With regard to work, my proudest moments are when PhD students complete what’s called their “viva voce” examination and are awarded their PhD. The viva voce examination comes at the end of a PhD and is a two to three hour discussion about the PhD research and the surrounding physics. There’s a great Sixty Symbols video about a PhD viva, featuring James Clewett (erstwhile world Tetris champion): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7ihcJk2sKY

Outside of work, my kids make me very proud all of the time!
