• Question: do any of you know what quantum chromodynamics are

      Yes, but it’s not my area of research. Quantum chromodynamics relates to the basic mechanisms underpinning the strong nuclear force and why it operates over such short length scales. My colleague Ed Copeland, a particle theory physicist here at Nottingham, could tell you a lot more!

      I don’t know much about quantum chromodyamics and looking at your profile you will know more than me if it is your favourite thing about science. What I know is that is do with quarks and gluons and explains how they are held together, the strong nuclear force.

      No I don’t. I only remember the very basics of quantum mechanics. It doesn’t come up in my research 🙁
