      The Lord of the Rings is my favorite series. I love the world that Tolkien created and the struggle between good and evil.

      The Hitch-Hiker’s Guide To The Galaxy trilogy (in five parts) by Douglas Adams.

      I *adore* Douglas Adams’ writing. I first came across the HHGTTG when I stumbled across the BBC Radio 4 series back in the late seventies. I’ve since smuggled in references to the Guide in my undergraduate lectures. The Infinite Improbability Drive is a good way to introduce the second law of thermodynamics!
